Spark Plug Index Shim by Allstar Performance ALL96506 Review

After trying this automotive ignition part, I was extremely let down. Despite my hopes for increased efficiency, the end result was quite the opposite. The pros of the product were that it was easy enough to install, but the cons far outweighed any positives. It did not work well with my engine and made starting up a real headache. I would not recommend this product to anyone in need of reliable ignition parts.

These index discs are finished thin, silver 0.008, black 0.012. I've had other brands and their thin washer was .048 copper. You can adjust the index anywhere, and they don't pull the spark plug out of the cylinder like thick washers. I was very pleased with how easy it worked.

Thin steel lock washers. Two thickness sizes (0.2mm and 0.3mm); they correspond to the rotation of the plug for 10 minutes or 15 minutes. counterclockwise for each size you will use. (on a regular 12 hour dial). Torque the spark plug to 20-30 lb-ft to align the lock washer to a nice flat shape; Then add indexing discs to rotate counter-clockwise until you are where you want to index. (I've been indexing surebets since I was 24 and this was the easiest method in 49 years.)
