Comfortable and inexpensive

I am 5ft 9" and 230lbs. I don't even notice it when driving. I wear them under my pants which are very relaxed so there is plenty of room for pads. As another reviewer noted, I wear them on opposite sides than they are labeled - as the extra tab at the bottom protects my shins from the outside if I get into an accident. Overall I am very happy with these pads. They seem to offer good protection - I hope I never have to find out.

Pros
  • Asymmetric and lightweight ergonomic plate design offers extended protective surfaces to reduce rotation
Cons
  • not reliable

Great for big boys, good for safety gear

First, I'm 6ft 1,350lbs and they fit great. So the big ones are not afraid. They are a little tight at the bottom strap (calf) but an extra Velcro strap from Walmart will solve this, although I don't mind. Don't worry about the hips, I have big ones and they still have room. Okay, so the knee pads and upper calf pads are great. Tested by my wife on golf club shots lol. And they protect the inside of the lower leg/thigh. But do I need shock protection there? Maybe I'll put the right one on top…

Pros
  • Designed with a flex channel in the shell that allows the shell to flex with the knee
Cons
  • Some cons

4 stars for one reason only.

lumberjacks and large hips/knees/calfs - cheap velcro are for skinnier types. Legs/Knees/Calves. I still wear them because they offer great protection and fit my AS boots great, but they get really uncomfortable after a few minutes with the edges cutting into the skin. I find myself distracting myself from the itchiness and playing around with them, trying to get comfortable. I will pay to have mine modified to fit me personally and make my ride more comfortable. Alpinestars gear doesn't come…

Pros
  • Vented panels and 3D mesh material ensure rider comfort by preventing heat build-up and maintaining tactile skin contact.
