Four bolt bar clamp holds handlebar securely. β˜… Depending on the thickness of your handlebar, you may need to install a shim. Be sure to use glue on threads if any loosen up. β˜… Use the 45 degree stem to achieve a more comfortable riding position, the pain caused by the original setup in shoulders/arms/back had to be corrected. Pragmatic choice.

Certainly not the lightest stem, but it's aluminum and not as heavy as a steel stem. Looks solid, feels sturdy and put my handlebars back where I needed them. Make sure there is enough steerer tube left. It was larger than my other tribe and I had to move the Star Mother.

The head tube clamp is tapered at the top, tricky to install and finish

The head tube clamp is tapered at the top which means it really doesn't want to be lower than the top of the head tube. This meant I couldn't use it with a stem riser. This is very problematic. Also, there was a very sharp aluminum burr around the bezel's screw threads, and when I fiddled with the stem, it cut my finger. Not good.

Great fit but the real question is how durable is it. The time will show; but it seems solid.

In this price range one expects one thing above all: solid construction. Light or style is a little unreasonable. He doesn't have either, but he seems solid. Make sure you have the correct diameters (this is pretty standard for unthreaded stems). Also watch the Park Tools video series for installation tips. I removed the beautiful riser to replace it with this extension. I miss the beauty of the old one, but the high waist was wonderful for my neck. It has the look and feel of a durable…
