Used 3x, the 3rd time a piece fell off

The 3rd time it no longer worked normally, stopped and looked, one of the two blades was partially broken off. First 2 uses were good, but I was expecting more than 2 uses from a $20+ item. I cut a not very thick Canadian maple so it wasn't too hard or anything. I guess next time I'll pay more for the best.

Pros
  • Spare parts and accessories for the router
Cons
  • Can be retrofitted

Great tact. Excellent price. Excellent cut.

I have used all types of Amana bits and they are top notch. I've used this bit on both hard maple and black walnut and it cuts perfectly. I would like the shank to be 1/2 instead of 1/4 but this bit can take a lot of damage before it breaks. However, if you're cutting hardwood, make sure you get the first few passes right and don't try to cut too fast.

Pros
  • Trim
Cons
  • Zero

Good fit. Poorly designed for small

Initially, the nozzle perfectly cut Walnut, Wenge, Purple Heart and Whig Chakta. After about 30 minutes of operation, however, the upper bearing appears to have collapsed. I don't know what happened but the set screw was tight and the second bearing seemed very stable. I've only ordered it again because there aren't many 3/8 top stock bits, but the delay will end up costing me a few hundred dollars in work.

Pros
  • straight, spiral and trimming nozzles

Collar Allen key must be included

Item looked ok, had to make sure the set screw was tight in the collar but didn't have the right size hex key. It seemed tight enough so I took a chance, unfortunately the set screw came loose on first use, now I need to find a spare and an Allen key of the right size - if they came with an Allen key. the package for the shoulder adjustment screw would have given 5 stars - otherwise the bit worked great.

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • Expensive

Small diameter with two upper bearings.

Material: Rough cedar wood with a vertical structure. It's a relatively soft wood. Approximately 9 feet long X 11 3/4 X 1 3/4 Project: Neighborhood Sign Replacement. 1/2 inch. The beat held up throughout this part of the project. I did not lubricate the bearings. When creating the address bar, the bearings failed. Guilty. I have ordered another one. You can also find replacement bearings for this Amana product. Haven't tried it on hardwood yet.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Out of fashion

DO NOT buy this router bit.!

I needed a router to make some grooves and splices on a Lowe's Pine whiteboard for a cabinet project. Honestly, this is about the softest wood you can buy. When the Amana cutter was used for the first time, the shaft of the cutter broke and the bearings were destroyed. Luckily I wasn't hurt in any way. It could be a lot worse. I looked at other reviews and saw similar results here and there. After this near miss I will never buy anything from the Amana tool again. I've never had a router that…
