I used it to cut grooves. He did a great job with knotty white oak using a plunge router and a 1/2" thick MDF template. I started the groove with a template, then since the oak was thick I removed the template and ran the stock over the ones before cut section. After that I leveled the corners with a chisel. Note that you don't need/need a long length of cut for this process as you will need to make some shallow cuts.
Amana cutters are well designed and well balanced. They work well in small (1HP) routers due to the good polish. Even large ones like these quickly remove large amounts of material, have low friction and low buildup (thus generating less heat and noise). The ball bearing is strong enough and the locking ring is easy to operate. It is recommended to store them sprayed with WD40 oil or similar. These bits outperform my Bosch and Makita bits and the stock is the BEST plus as most of my work is…
first let me say this is the first bit i have. And it's AMAZING! I am building an arcade machine and this allowed me to "copy" the left and right sides so they are exactly the same size. It worked very well and cut through 3/4" MDF plywood. I've since used it to clean up the trim pieces I added around the edges to make them sit flush. Chisel cuts product LOWER. If you have pieces of wood on top of each other need to stack, the piece at the top is your guide/template and the piece at the bottom…
