This is a great way to drill and countersink screw heads in one movement. It is easily adjustable and comes with a double ended hex key for adjustment. I have been using Microstop countersinks on aircraft sheet metal for over 40 years. They are adjustable in increments of 0.002. I still have a few micro stops and can use 82 degree bits but they don't pre-drill. These are excellent wood sinkers. Just adjust the sinking depth to scrap wood and enjoy the precision.
I was really hoping this would work as I'm a fan of the Amana tool but I was disappointed. Firstly the thing sinks into wood like butter so it's not a problem but the sink stop sucks like a lot of things, it worked fine for the first week but then kinda didn't when I use my fingers to prevent it from sinking rotates, works, but I think it should work by itself. Today I will try to remove the emphasis and update this review. PS: Be careful when adjusting the drill bit when tightening it. I broke
Tried many depth gauge collars etc. They gave up on a previous project and decided to try these. YES, they are relatively expensive, but they WORK and are easy to use. I'm so tired of many other brands of deep sockets and/or sinkers that you have to fiddle with them and they're "improvised" at best. This seems to work very well, depth and sink depth are easy to adjust. Save a few bucks to get one or two of these; and save yourself a lot of frustration from using deep collars. Only given 4 stars
