Beautiful bar with design features

The basic design is the same as you're familiar with: the top flaps of the tail lift to reveal 3 spikes that hold the sandpaper to wrap same piece at the other end. The innovation is that they include grooved sections that work like hinges to give the top flaps a little more flexibility when lifted to change sandpaper. The strength of the petals holding the ends of the sandpaper is not greatly reduced. The hinges seem to help a little. Below is the sandpaper surface design like a honeycomb. I…

Works well, uses striped sheet

This is a basic sanding block so not much to write about. It is quite hard with very little ductility, making it good for grinding flat surfaces. At first I was annoyed that this block uses an unusual size of sandpaper, but it actually uses 1/4 sheet like my other sanding blocks - but you have to cut it into strips (see how I laid out the block in the picture, you DO NOT cut the paper into 4 parts, as in the "4 Squares" game). With this in mind, the strips are easy to cut and use without a lot…

Large palm-sized hand sanding block, good for sanding flat surfaces

This review is for the RevainBasics rubber sanding block. This is a very durable hard rubber hand sanding pad. The curved shape of the top fits comfortably in the palm of my hand, while the rubbery texture provides a secure grip, allowing me to apply as much (or less) pressure as needed depending on the type of sanding I need to perform. The bottom is a 2.5" x 4.75" flat rubber surface with ventilation holes to grip the sandpaper and prevent slipping while sanding. To attach the sandpaper…

Some innovative ideas but with one fatal flaw.

A slightly different version of the standard rubber sanding pad. Like its predecessors, this pad holds 1/4 sheet of standard sandpaper. It has three main differences from older versions.1. The block is made of rubber on the outside and hard plastic on the inside. This will make the "flaps" that hold the sandpaper a little stiffer, making it easier to load the sandpaper onto the block.2. The valve hinges are also made of hard plastic. Time will tell but I think they hold up better than the old…

A while ago I started to repaint my kitchen cabinets. Since I had a lot of sanding blocks that were too coarse, I cut out sheets of sandpaper and wrapped them around the blocks to make them finer. They worked fine, but when I saw this I realized there must be a much better solution. I had to put my project on hold for a while due to health reasons, but I hope to be able to start again soon. I just have paint and a top coat to apply the top shelves and I'm done. When I got this sanding block, I…
