They're nice and light but warm! They are perfect for Florida winters and go great with oversized jackets when we travel to colder places! We have 3 different colors for our kids! XXL for our taller 12 year old girl and 14 year old boy - they are 5ft 1" and 5ft 3"! And then XL for our little 12 year old! 4 stars only because I have no idea how long the seams or zippers will last because it's still 90 degrees 😜

I bought this for my 7 year old son who is about 46 inches tall and weighs about 50 pounds. Now he wears size 6/7 and this size fits him perfectly. It won't fit him next year but it's snug but not too tight but I don't think he can wear a sweater underneath. I read a lot of reviews before ordering this jacket, most of them recommend going up a size. I actually followed that recommendation and got the size for my 4.5 year old but ended up giving this jacket to my 6.5 year old. Should you increase the size? I think it depends on your child. My son is 6 years old (he will be 7 in May), 52 inches tall, weighs 54 pounds and small fits him perfectly. I mean excellent. He may not be able to wear it next winter, but for $15 I'm fine with it.
