As soon as I plugged in the iPhone charger it exploded fire and smoke came out. He fried my phone and a lock of hair. I'm so pissed that Amazon made this pathetic product, it wasn't even a third party.

Delighted to find this 6 foot extra long cable. A 3 foot cord wasn't enough for two spots in my house where all devices are plugged into an outlet. Before the power cords were pulled so tight, they barely broke through. A great idea for computer and multimedia areas where there is no outlet close to your devices.

This should be off the shelf. I read other reviews on this unit and also had this extension cord which started sparking and catching fire. I have contacted amazon.com several times and they still have not taken it off their shelves! DO NOT BUY THIS FOOD! There is a risk of fire!

This socket requires a more heat resistant plastic. I had no idea plastic would melt and burn until I unplugged it. It is normal to plug in the charger for your phone. It cannot work with a device that consumes a lot of power and the plug gets hot. Thank goodness we never left the unit on when we weren't home.

Unfortunately I received a defective one. Everything was working fine for a couple of months until I heard a faint crackling sound. When I finally traced the extension cord, the light flickered rapidly and the attached lamp blinked/dropped when turned on. Pulled out the danger. Even though it happened in less than a year I waited too long to make a warranty claim. In fact, I've only lost about $10, which is confidence in Revain Basics electrical products. Luckily nothing serious happened.

When I received this, it had no visible signs of damage to the packaging or the power supply itself, but it was rattling like a piece of plastic, or maybe a small screw was turning inside. I was embarrassed using it without knowing what was inside, so I opened it up and found a good ball of solder rolling around (see picture). This is potentially dangerous as it could short out the output terminals. That issue aside, the extension cord appears to be quite well made.

This morning I was woken up by the buzzing sound of a broken extension cord. At first I suspected something was wrong with the fan until my wife realized that the extension cord actually caught fire behind the dresser. We immediately turned off the circuit breaker and realized that if we weren't home, a fire could start and cause significant damage to the house/burn down the house.
