the threads must be dirty it won't stick to the bed

I usually use Overture and Hatchbox ABS threads but saw this listing. Took it out this week to try it out and it looked suspicious when loading the printer. the first layer does not lie down. Checked Z added a glue stick that usually offers excellent adhesion. Still not good temperature regulation, still looks weird when extruding. switched back to overture with no problem, and then with some PETG still no problem, so something is wrong. I missed a return date so I think I'm stuck with that…

Pros
  • Backed by Amazon Basics 1 year limited warranty
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Stick to Hatchbox or Matterhackers for ABS

This is not pure ABS. It's a compound so the shrinkage is really high and you have to use 10 seconds more to flow than regular ABS. Even then, it still doesn't work well. The anthracite color was great, but the grip itself isn't very good and it didn't want to lay down well. I bought two spools and printed about 100g from each spool before giving up on this product. Bought because Amazon didn't have a hatchbox and hackers because it was hijacked when the covid shit started. It never hurts to…

Pros
  • Manufactured from widely available ABS, a durable thermoplastic material that is excellent for making long lasting products that require higher heat resistance
Cons
  • No automatic

Not worth the headache.

I spent a week setting up my printer to print this filament. My bottom line is don't bother. Most of my prints fail due to warping, sticking plates and sticking layers. Adjusting the bed height, masking tape and glue stick helps a little but most of my prints fail due to various numbers or imperfections that render the final product unusable as I wanted to print in ABS for durability. Heating the filament to 270 degrees and slowing down the print speed gave the best results for layer adhesion…
