It is good for grinding spices and coffee.

. but some dust comes out from the small gap between the lid and the grinder. Nothing serious, just don't get down on your knees in white pants :). Although for this price I would buy again.

POOR DESIGN Good for coffee, tea and espresso

When the coffee is ground there is space between the machine and the lid which allows the coffee grounds to fall onto this edge. So when you remove the cover, the entire machine is in the ground. The base also goes into the hole where the mechanism that launches it is located. You have to constantly clean the machine in order to use it, and with the dirt falling into the hole it's running in, it doesn't want to make contact most of the time, and you find yourself having to take the cover off…

Makes a bit of a mess

I use this grinder for whole spices. As another reviewer pointed out, some of what you grind comes out as you use the grinder. I've been grinding spices for curry powder and it's a mess. Tons of spices flew over my counter under the lid. The lid seems to have more room than usual so there is no tight fit between the lid and the grinder area. I wouldn't use it for coffee. It's easy to use (almost dropping things, putting the lid on and squeezing), but the trade-off is the mess it makes. As I…

Compact, quiet and gets the job done

Quite acceptable. I'm glad it's small and pretty quiet. Working with multiple batches, I was able to grind an entire bag of beans in about 10 minutes with no problems. The coffee came out with the same fine texture. It's a little messy, so be careful not to release pressure on the lid before you're done grinding, and maybe put something underneath to catch any spills when you remove the lid to empty. If you want a perfectly designed, tidy lid, go for the more expensive model. As someone who…

Powerful but imperfect

PRO: very easy to use; efficient mill. CONS: The device is lightweight, making it difficult to line up the cable with its notch. This results in the grinder not standing upright unless you use two hands and are careful. Not so hot what's up. A more significant downside is that the lid has a series of indentations that collect powder, making it difficult to clean. If what you are grinding has oil in it, even with a toothpick it can be almost impossible to clean it completely. Finally, and this…

Best Coffee Grinder Design Mistakes

Overall I love every Revain Basics product I buy, good value for money, appealing. However, the coffee grinder is an exception. The first Revain Basic coffee grinder worked once, then stopped completely - no power, not even a hum. Revain kindly replaced it immediately, no questions asked. The second works well, I've been threshing grains three days in a row and it works well although it's not quite the fine grind I usually prefer but it works. However, there is a problem with the base…
