Great solution for security and surveillance systems

Easy to install, great value for a 4 camera system. The cameras are plastic but feel solid, time will tell. Login I prefer local logins. Just my preference!

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Some bugs

Doesn't record video when alarm input

firmware bug, most likely. This could be fixed with a firmware fix but I can't wait: this rather expensive item will be returned for a refund within my 30 day Revain window. The alarm inputs are important and have been verified by me in my tests. I received emails with photos and buzzer sounds. But the VIDEO was not recorded to disk as required by my very careful setup. I'm a hardware testing expert and I know when to keep them and I know when to throw them away and get my money back. THAT…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • High price

Requires a browser plugin to view videos when accessed from the website. The layout is complex, I'm still studying all the possibilities of the box. I'm not sure how it will support 32 4k cameras as it only has one gigabit port, they should have two ports and you should be able to chain them in one lacp command, or a 10gb or sfp port would be nice. Video playback navigation sliders could be easier to use, you have to fiddle with them to view the footage. Other than that, it's a big upgrade over

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons

Support issues

The NVR is good and has many options for cameras and the system itself, the startup is very slow. Haven't tried night vision yet, but it doesn't matter as this is an overview for an NVR. Tech support is not in America and I've called 5 times and each time it's been an Indian guy with a terrible mic and a heavy accent. They respond quickly but they are very bad at the job I give them and I find out before they do and I'm just guessing about the applications. Better tech support and less fan…

Improved Bandwidth / Smaller / Quieter

Better overall bandwidth than the previous version results in smoother videos when you have many 4K 30fps cameras. Much smaller and much quieter than the previous version - a big improvement. Noise reduction, storage capacity is slightly reduced - it can accommodate two large-capacity hard drives, not four small ones. The font on the screen is too small when the display is set to 4K video. This cannot be adjusted (firmware update?). This issue is worth the partial star deduction, but…

Easy setting. playback problems.

This NVR has quite a lot of features, but PC Surveillance Pro seems to have many more features, such as: B. Image display settings for presence changes etc. I was hoping that all of these would be available on the NVR. My main problem is playback at speeds over 2X. Smooth playback is only possible at up to 2x speed. Anything above that is displayed in frames with a difference of 10 seconds or more. Blue Iris rendition is excellent even at maximum speed. Another issue is that motion detection…

Works very well for this money.

After looking at a few NVRs and thinking about building my own BlueIris this one works well for the price. If you go with Amcrest's cheaper NVRs, you'll likely regret your purchase as they tend to fall behind as they approach the rated number of cameras. The ONVIF support on this NVR somewhat expands the cameras you can use, although the features on them can be a bit hit/miss. Although the NVR works well, the documentation provided is almost useless. Fortunately, the user interface is quite…

Worked great until tested.

I sold the camera to a friend who has an escape room. They already had an analog system, but he wanted to move with the times. So I told him to order 30 Amcrest 4MP Turret cameras and built him a Blue Iris server. He liked this setup but his staff hated it so I decided to order the same DVR. Everything started well after I added about 12 cameras. But as I added more, the system became sluggish and sluggish. Viewing via the app seemed fine, but the quest room used the browser to display live…
