People will try to tell you "don't buy a 3600X, just buy a 3600, overclock it to 3600X and save money." Sorry , Zen2 doesn't work that way. The 3600 and 3600X use the same voltage to achieve their respective clock speeds of 4.2 and 4.4GHz, meaning the 3600X can only be compared to diving in and running it. potentially unsafe voltages, at this point an extra $35-$50 looks a lot better than $100+ to cool the 3600 well enough to keep up with the 3600X and even then the 3600 will NEVER beat the…

This monster of computers and accessories

I got my 3600X today and it's a beast. Putting it under the H115i gives you enough cooling to hit 4.2GHz at just 1.35V. I'm starting at 2600 (not X) and it's leaps and bounds ahead of the old CPU. I would recommend that you stick with the X470 or B450 board unless you really need PCIe Gen 4.0 or any of the other goodies the X570 offers. With lower power consumption than last generation, there should be no problem on most X470 and B450 boards. Most, if not all, will need to flash/update the BIOS

Pros
  • can deliver ultra-fast performance of 100+ fps in the world's most popular gaming system memory. 3200MHz spec
Cons
  • Really don't like it, everything is fine

Coming from an i7-4790K that I have on a 4.6GHz all core booster installed. This Ryzen chip gives me much smoother frame rates in games, Windows loads faster, and the stock cooler is actually pretty reliable. There are basically no complaints about the chip. If you mainly use gaming, there's really no reason to buy the 8-core or 12-core versions. At $200 and $250, the 3600 and 3600X are fantastic prices. You get really good performance at prices that Intel can't even come close to without…

Pros
  • The world's most advanced desktop gaming processor
