Description of 🏍️ Enhance Performance with Andrews Cam .495 Lift EV27 Grind for Harley EVO Big Twin

Measurement of cam and pinion gears is especially critical for 90 and later models to verify proper fit. Bolt-in street cam with fast open and close ramps. Similar in timing to EV3 but designed to produce a very broad torque band. Excellent cam for full dress touring bikes. Pulls 1500 to 6000 RPM.

Good mid-range performance

You won't break records from a standing start, but you'll notice a difference the first time you drive past someone after switching to this camera. I love it. Not a monster cam, I still get decent mileage and can now easily keep up with the pack at 90mph.

good cam it was known and proven

Replaced this cam with the exact same one that was chewed up thanks to HD and their bean counters who decided to make their cam bearings cheaper and go with INA. Thank you Andrews for your fine cameras and thank you HD for having a sharp case of chronic corporate greed to make this experience possible.

Cons

Evo Big twin. MEASURE YOUR GEARS BEFORE YOU ORDER!

The cam worked great and has enough power for my old Heavypacker but don't forget to measure the gearing first! I found that the "GREEN" gear is only available through vintage cycles and they only sell in HD for around $160. Do yourself a favor and call Andrews directly to pair the camera with whatever size gear you already have.

Cons
  • Crumpled Package

Great cam for the money

I recently installed this on a '98 Wide Glide. Installation was fairly easy, with a few caveats.1. Replaced the factory INA cam bearing with Torrington bearings, a necessary upgrade to improve reliability.2. This cam must be installed on later Evo engines. Simply order a .055" washer and place the washer between the thrust washer and cam. (Note: the order in which the thrust washer and gasket are installed is critical). .carefree to repair. Use a hydraulic press to pull the gear off both cams…
