This mandrel works great in my drill press. This is a quality unit that will hold the tool securely with no impact. The hex key for the set screws is junk, but the set screws themselves are fine.

I had to use hole drills to cut about 30 holes in the steel, ranging in size from 1 to 1.5 inches. This thing held these pieces perfectly, although sometimes I couldn't attach the material I was working with. Worth the money if you want perfect holes in multiple sheets of 1/2" board.

Bought to add a core drill to my metal lathe. The mandrel is beautifully and cleanly processed and holds the cutting edge perfectly. I chose to mount it on Compound in an MT3 tool block rather than use it in the tailstock just to avoid stressing the tailstock itself. Large cutters have some torque, nothing against the adapter itself. I made a center finder that fits into the shaft to make it easier to center the cutters on the workpiece.
