The first one is broken, the next one is fine.

My first stock arrived visibly broken but when reordering it turned out to be much better. The first had a bearing problem, the second was fine, the only thing I had was it arrived scratched. I still can't say enough good things about their QC, but the new shaft works well.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Nothing here

I would not buy again.

Everything fits well but the holes for the through bolt on the steering column do not match. A quick cut with a Dremel tool to make the holes oval. (No, it's not rotated 180 degrees. That would cause my bike to wobble 180 degrees.) No issues on the strut side, but a lower quality bolt, metric 8.8 vs factory quality 9.8. I expected it too, but the steering wheel isn't straight anymore.

Pros
  • Nicely packaged
Cons
  • Very expensive

Lucky steering shaft installation

I am satisfied with the steering shaft. It arrived quickly and in perfect condition, installed with no problems, the only problem was the position of the fittings at each end which caused the steering wheel to turn a quarter turn instead of being in exactly the same position as the old one. A small detail that does not bother me and that I corrected immediately, knowing that in many cases the steering parts are different from the old ones, forcing you to make adjustments. I would recommend this

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Cheap but not factory installed

Good price, affordable repair. However, this isn't true (on one side and out of the part the steering wheel will be off center 25 degrees clockwise) and it's not true (squeaks/sticks with firewall support and bearing) unless there was one For a discontinued part that costs less than $325 I would not leave more than one star as it is actually a physical item. For any reviews that say it's too short or too long, be aware that the stock telescopes move with the suspension. Pull or push it

  • Stylish and modern design

The lever solves the steering problem!

My Dakota 98's clicks and slow response were fixed by replacing this linkage. This unit looked like it was very well made and installed with little effort. However, since the device only fits in one case, there is a 50/50 chance that alignment will be required. I needed it and took the car to the local STS shop where everything was aligned. No more steering issues and I feel a lot more relaxed now as the steering is more responsive. Some of the other places I contacted about this part were…

Solid replacement for the original steering shaft

The original steering shaft on my 1997 2WD Dakota slapped and gave me a lot of free play so I decided to buy this replacement. The original rod proved quite difficult to remove, but I finally got it after about an hour of punching and sleuthing. The replacement shaft fits perfectly with the steering column and gearbox. This stock was definitely designed to be more durable than the original stock. My only issue after installing the shaft was that the front tires were no longer aligned with the…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • The cable is shorter than others
