🎿 High-Performance Apex 4 Ski and Snowboard Roof Rack for Enhanced Outdoor Adventures Review

Bought this product after much research. It easily attaches to the crossbars of my roof rack. I recommend using a cordless screwdriver instead of Alan's wrenches that come with the kit. My skis and my girlfriend's skis fit perfectly, a tight closure that kept speed on the Autobahn for a couple of hours. Can only recommend this product and can't be beat for the price.

Good product. It would be nice if the screws that attach the uprights to the crossbars could be unscrewed for easier removal as many people want to remove them in between ski trips (to wash the car etc.). I plan to replace the existing hex set screws with large plastic knobs that allow them to be tightly secured but removed without a hex wrench. But they work fine.

Perfect for my use. I only need these 2 months a year. They are well built, durable and comfortably fit 3 to 4 pairs of skis. Be careful with the locking mechanism. Make sure you push the top rail down and then it snaps into place. If the key will not turn, try again. They snap perfectly into place if you slide the top rail far enough. Cheap plastic resulted in a total failure during installation. When tightening one of the screws, which is only supported by a thin piece of plastic at the top, the plastic broke and the screw fell on the roof of my car, leaving a large dent in it, also chipping the paint. Getting a replacement, but I doubt my fears of suddenly breaking screws/plastics will subside. Also, they whistle at 40mph+, but it's unnoticeable in my Jeep unless the windows are rolled down. I used this product for the first time last weekend. Everything seemed to be working fine before I left for a ski trip. When I got to the ski resort, both locking mechanisms were stuck and I couldn't get the skis off the stand. The lock cylinders seemed to work, but the bolts would not open. Heavy stand, weighs much more than expected. Installation was pretty easy without even looking at the instructions. Fits perfectly with my factory 2014 Dodge Durango crossmembers and looks like they can work with a variety of crossmember sizes. SNOWBOARDER: Space for only 2 full size snowboards plus skis or other small items. Not suitable for 3 adult snowboards.
