Not the best product to buy!

This valve core removal tool also has problems; Firstly, the removal of the document shredder cannot be easily adjusted and secondly, the seal falls off after 3 operations. When I buy a tool in the store, there are 2 extra seals with it. But I got it from Amazon, there is nothing superfluous there. The cost of ordering a new O-ring is the same as the cost of a new tool. The only reason I bought it is for my mini split work.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

A work of art of mechanics

These are quality parts but I found the 'pink' anodised section was a bit thick for the Daikin unit and I had to do some odd things to make it fit but apparently am i not the only one I saw that they had "smoother" devices, but they didn't seem as well built as this one. I've put them through quite a bit of abuse (I've had more than one) and they're reliable, durable and they just look cool. In any case, they close the ball valve connection well. They seal well and really allow you to swap outโ€ฆ

  • Handsfree

  • Not trendy

The Right Tool for Air Conditioning Tools and Equipment

As a DIYer installing my first Mini Split, I have found this tool very useful. First, it comes with the required 5/16" fitting to mount to the R410a system. It also comes with a built in schrader valve removal tool. Connect a pump, meter, etc. I also have a 1/4" side fitting for use with a vacuum gauge. This makes the whole vacuum process so quick and easy. The price might be a bit off for a one-time fitment, but it can be resold as used. Personally, I'm very happy that I have it. By the wayโ€ฆ

Replaced my new Yellow Jacket 18985 with an Appion tool and I'm glad I did

Awesome 5/16" main connector to connect to my R410A mini split with 1/4" Inch side port for direct connection to my Micron sensor (see photos posted by others for installation). The rear fitting was 1/4" and connected directly to my vacuum hose. It worked great, I bought a Yellow Jacket 18985 valve core remover that just couldn't do it. Personally, I find the correct vacuum the most important thing to disassemble and install, I do was able to get my cores out easily with this tool, it took aโ€ฆ

Fun setup of my MiniSplit

I installed my Pioneer MiniSplit system (24K) over the weekend and vacuumed with this tool. I was able to get down to 450 microns in an hour. When I closed the valve and shut off the pump, it rose to 1250 (one thousand). In a few minutes I'll have 1240, then 1230. So I have a leak. I filled the system with argon (I had that, so why not) and using my leak detector I found a leak where this tool connected to the service port. I tried to tighten it and pulled out another vacuum. Same result. I was

Works fine but I suggest buying a few more parts for the mini split vacuum.

Used to install a mini split. Fits perfectly and the Schrader removal tip fits snugly and snugly onto the Schrader valve. Appion then expects you to retract the shredder, close the valve, and remove the back of the tool to connect the vacuum line. The problem is that after evacuating and removing the vacuum line, a small amount of air is introduced into the system when the schrader valve is reinstalled. I suggest adding a tee and valve to the gauge port to keep the schradder in the tool andโ€ฆ

Great evacuation tool, poor valve core removal tool

I used it to install my Pioneer 24k mini split system. I tried simply using a YellowJacket 5/16' to 1/4" adapter but could only pump to 1500 microns no matter how long I ran the pump (no lift in the isolation system). I picked it up and I used it along with the 1/4" version to isolate my micrometer gauge before releasing refrigerant into the system. I was able to get my system down to 100 microns in just a few minutes! As valve core removers they both work poorly. I couldn't remove the sideโ€ฆ

Beware of metal shavings for tools and equipment

I received the package a few weeks ago. The product looked very nice and solid. Days passed and I began preparing to learn how the device worked. I unscrewed the end to remove the Schrader valve. As I unscrewed and removed the part, I noticed a speck of dirt on the black o-ring on the other end of the unit. I shook it off, noting its color at the same time - the same dirty pink as the device's body. I decided to blow in and at the same time clasped my palm on one end. I caught another pieceโ€ฆ
