Does not work with tarpaulins and closures

I mounted the plug. I tried blowing out the lines with a vacuum cleaner but the valve wouldn't open. Good idea, but poorly executed. I returned it for a refund with no problems.

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • Socket required

What a time saver! - Bungee cords

I admit I was a bit skeptical when I saw them but I ordered them anyway to give the pool a try with the closure this year. They really work! I no longer have to ask my wife to turn on the vacuum while I'm trying to screw in those old rubber stoppers. Build quality is good and I hope they last a few seasons before needing replacement. What a time saver!

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Best idea since sliced bread!

Best idea after slicing bread. I dipped my hand in the water while blowing air into the plumbing and the water boiled and soaked me. I laboriously unscrewed and unscrewed the rubber stopper. It takes away the frustration, just screw in with watery composure and blow the air out. I still cap the other end of the tube with a rubber stopper and pour RV antifreeze down the tube.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • No

This appears to be a very well made product

This appears to be a very well made product, it is the best design I have seen for an exhaust valve. But I don't know what they mean by multi-directional because you can look at it and say you have to blow through the other side of the line and this device leaks water. This creates an airlock and prevents the pipes from freezing. I'm not deducting a point for this issue because I could look at it and tell you how it works before you order it.

Pros
  • As has everything before
Cons
  • Repair

Works great with belt wrench

Used these to blow out the return jets today. Be sure to wrap the threads with Teflon tape. A simple design improvement would be to make the edges hexagonal so they can be tightened with a wrench. I had to buy a strap wrench to get the return jet nice and tight and even with that I'm not sure it's tightened the way it should be. I blew through my lines with a shop vacuum and while it blew I went to the return jets and pulled the little rubber out of the middle to allow the water to escape…

Pros
  • Nice construction
Cons
  • Nothing here

Seems to work fine in my tests.

I tested this product attached to a PVC pipe submerged to the same level as the pool eyes and it did not leak during the 20 hour test. I then blew through antifreeze and tested it again just to make sure it fit snugly and still make a good seal and it worked. I then measured the amount of water contained in the line after flushing and was surprised that only 10% remained in the line. I also tested the product submerged in anti-freeze for 24 hours to see if there was any elastomer degradation…

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Approximately
