This is a regular printhead. It does the job, but man. it is not silent. I checked, nothing is blocking the impeller, it just rattles. It works and I had a miserable time finding another 210 to replace it so I'm keeping it but shut up it's NO!

My goldfish (two regular salvaged and three fancy) love the extra ventilation and enjoy the relatively gentle current. The venturi valve is adjustable for more or less air. If you have live plants, they need to be anchored well or the constant current will eventually pull them up.

Part of the first problem might be that it's more powerful than advertised. I have a 40G hex so it's big. and to find something to replace my Whisper 480 I need something >2ft of buoyancy so I went with a medium size and it blows the fish through the tank. The two real problems are that the hole doesn't match my 1" downspouts, so it's probably sucking more from the top of the tank than through the bottom gravel pack. And second, it's LOUD. I only ordered this to filter my 75 gallon turtle tank when my canister filter got dusty. It's too small for my aquarium but works well enough to keep the water clean enough. I attached a medium sized plastic bottle with 3 stage filter media so the performance is not very strong for an aquarium of this size. I did the same with a power supply I bought at a big retail store that cost twice as much as this one and it blew up in 1 week. I don't expect much from this pump for my application…

Seems a very good deal and easy to install. Plenty of water suction and circulation and ventilation. However after 2 days it seems to buzz louder than my old pump which unfortunately died. I have checked that it is not against the wall of the tank and that the suction cups are in place and providing some clearance. I've connected an air hose to it, but when I turn it off it still buzzes, so I'm not sure what to think yet. It's very reasonably priced although it's in our living room so the noise

I ordered this when I switched from my old substrate to Seachem Flourite Black Sand. When I (carefully) added black sand (pre-washed), my aquarium looked like a muddy puddle. At first I was very scared that I would kill everyone in the aquarium and I made a big mistake. But I took that head and added a plastic bottle with the bottom cut off and polyfill put in the bottle.
