Description of Aquapapa Bio Sponge Ceramic Aquarium XY 2010

With multi-layer sponge filters, this corner filter combines physical and biochemical filtration for your fish and increases the oxygen solubility. Quiet filtering system. Especially good for breeding small fish. Efficiently remove toxic waste and maintain clean water for your fish. Just take out the sponge and rinse well when it becomes dirty. Each unit requires an air pump and airline tubing to operate together (sold separately, not included). Dimensions: 2.75"x 3.15"x 11". Max tank size: 40 gal.

Much more than expected. No suction cups.

later No suction cups are included so it can't be attached unless you use something to do it. Seems to be working so far but the suction seems to be coming from below which is not good for my planted tank. Thus, it levitates above the stuck projectile to avoid contact with the bottom of the tank. Also, this thing is way bigger than expected haha, I would have liked something 2x smaller, but that's enough for now.

  • Everything is fine!

Nice two level system

At first I thought the drain was too high but then I appreciated the fact that it is above the waterline. It sprays a gentle stream from above and sets floating plants like duckweed in motion. I took all the ceramic cylinders and placed them on the bottom half and used the included charcoal gravel on top for extra filtration. White sponges get dirty pretty quickly, which means tons of dirt is sucked into the tank. Definitely a great primary filter for a 10g or less aquarium.

Pros
  • Solid construction

  • No instructions

Works well could be better

I like that I can see when the filter needs cleaning but I wish there weren't holes in the bottom of the filter for dirt or algae to get in it can achieve than smaller version. I also wish there was a way to stack them to make it a 3-4 stage filter, but when I tried that it didn't hold together I was disappointed. To extend the time between cleanings, remove the sponges and floss from the bottom box, leaving only the top sponge in this order: coarse, medium, fine, and then filler so only clean…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Not the best

Nothing but impressions! I recommend it! Used on 20G long

Our canister filter finally gave up and in an attempt to find a quick fix we decided to order one for our 20 gallon. It's heavily planted and inaccessible, so instead of spending over $60 on a filter that doesn't last long, we wanted to give it a try. I ordered it the day our filter broke so it took a while for delivery. Therefore we put the HOB filter on 20 g of medium from the canister (to keep the bacteria alive). The water turned whitish and just wouldn't clear. Finally this filter. We…

Works perfectly . but . Best in Filters

I'm a fan of simple solutions. Modern pump filters sometimes make noise or draw too much current. That's why I installed this "old fashioned" system. This device works well, it takes about a week for the bacteria to take root, but it will control the ammonia levels. (Tank 20 gallons). Disadvantages: The material is brittle and brittle. I break easily if I'm not careful. The spout is very short and must not reach the water surface. I didn't want the outlet to be submerged, so I extended the pipe
