Excellent book! suitable for handicrafts, hobbies and home use

This book is not only an excellent book because of the high quality of the printing and illustrations, but also because of its content. Small enough to be concise and guide you step-by-step through planting an aquarium, specific plant information by variety, lighting requirements, nutrition, etc.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Without automatic

Poor Pet and Grooming Book

The book contains very little information. It contains very basic and limited information about aquarium plants. With one exception, all information in the book for the aquarium plant breeder is already general knowledge. The book contained detailed characteristics of the water quality of some plants. The spec lists GH and KH requirements for individual plants, which is nice. However, this information was limited to a few plants. All in all, I would not recommend this book.

Pros
  • Sturdy Construction
Cons
  • Update Availability

A good book for a beginner or for a refresher

Enough information for a beginner to get started including topics such as why live plants are good, how they help control tropical fish by-products such as nitrate (breaking down fish waste product) why you should use water fertilizer for healthy aquatic plants, even multiple design themes to accommodate aquarium decorations and plants for a more natural environment for the area your fish originate from. For me it was a nice refreshment after 15 years without water. Are there better books about

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Decent book if you don't already have Hiscock's Encyclopedia

. If you don't already have some of the other books by the same author or want to start your aquarium plant library at an average price then this is probably a really good choice. However, I already have The Encyclopedia of Aquarium Plants (also Hiscock) and Building a Natural Aquarium (Hiscock). I found a lot of information superfluous with the encyclopedia. On the other hand, it packs a lot of the same solid, well-explained information into a more compact paperback. If you don't already have…

Cons
  • Obsolete model
