easy to use, was happy with the lead test

I actually used this for an indoor herb garden and only used lead tests. I cleaned the flower pots, filled them with filtered water and let them sit for a couple of nights. Then the water from each plant pot was tested. The test went as prescribed and showed no lead in the still water in the plant pots.

Pros
  • lab and science products
Cons
  • outlet required

He told us most of what we needed to know

We wanted to test for lead using one strip for water straight out of the faucet and another strip for water that had leaked through our sink. Filter. One showed detectable conduction (but not how many) and the other showed none. The kit also checks for other chemicals, but we're not concerned with that. If you suspect serious contamination and don't have a good filter, you need a more thorough test. For our purposes, this turned out to work. I can't say anything about the accuracy anyway.

Pros
  • Laboratory Supplies

  • Unbelievable Price

EPA values, not safe values

This product was easy to use. I didn't like having to do lead and pesticide testing right after opening. I think they should be packed separately so I can use them at other times. The pesticide test was very disappointing. It wasn't a scale, it just said if you had pesticides below or above arbitrary EPA limits. These limits are fictitious and have not changed since 1991, so the pesticide test is essentially useless. It also only tests 2 pesticides and not a broader spectrum. Overall it was…
