I've had it about 5 months and it's still working. It has normal water flow. does a good job of keeping my tank clean. Before that I bought a 10-20 gallon and it only lasted about two months before it stopped working. I tried cleaning it but it still didn't work so I removed it.

I bought this for my turtle tank and it seems to be working very well. His last filter broke so his tank was dirty and that cleaned it up. However, it is very loud and causes chaos with splashes. In addition, when the filter gets very dirty, water will not flow through it, so it will have to be turned off.

We have a 10 gallon tank with 3 baby turtles. Pour 3 inches of water into the tank. We changed the water every day. We installed the pump and within 10 minutes the water was clear and odorless. We are on our second day and there is no sign of debris in the tank. I won't miss my daily water change workout! LAUGH OUT LOUD

The filter does what it's supposed to do and keeps the water in my tank clean. My problem with the filter is that the filter loses suction several times a week. Leave the pump running without water. When I finally notice that water isn't flowing out of the filter, it's an easy fix. Raise and reinstall the suction tube to restore suction, but I'm pretty sure it's only a matter of time before the pump burns out and needs to be replaced. It's good that the filter is cheap, but the lesson learned…

I bought this filter to replace an Aqua-Tech 20-40 that I've been using for over 12 years with no problems until I disassembled it to clean the filter cracked. Licking filters in place. That's why I bought this one. I also have another job to replace a 30-60 model that I've used in a 30 gallon tank for over 12 years, but it's too big a filter for the job so I'm swapping it out.
