The water is warmer than the dial setting, but the heater works well.

This heater delivers water about 2-4 degrees higher than I set on the dial and is a bit large for a 50 watt heater. I have no other problems with this heater. Works well, suction cups hold the heater to the glass. The dial is a bit difficult to turn at first, but it gets easier pretty quickly. Great affordable option. A picture is included to show what it looks like.

Good heating so far!

This works very well, although sometimes I feel like the temperature fluctuates too much even in such a small tank. He can go from 74 to 78 in two hours without adjustment. But that is due to the territory of the smaller reservoir, so I can give it four stars. I have a different brand heater in another tank that we have. It looks a lot more "rugged" than this aquatop, but costs a little more. If you are looking to heat something much larger than 20 gallons I would recommend the EHEIM Jager…

Excellent value for money for aquarium heaters

The heaters work great in my aquarium. I'm very glad I took the risk and bought three at once. The visible temperature dial and easy-to-reach adjustment knob on the top are two great features of this heater in this price range. The heater is well made and doesn't look cheap at all. Such a heater can easily retail for 30+. I've only had them in 3 of my tanks for a couple of months so I can't say how well they will hold up but given their good workmanship I expect they will last for many years…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine

I feel this heater can last a long time

I've had this heater for a few weeks now and after reading some reviews and doing my own research I think this is the only one Problem some people might have is from people. This heater has broken glass or something else due to improper use. To be on the safe side, I turn off the heat at least 15 minutes before doing water changes or anything to do with the glass coming out of the water. Larger temperature changes can cause the glass to break. Also, I just stand it upright with a plastic cover…

1 year later, still works great

I got this heater for my 10 gallon Betta aquarium and a year after I bought it this heater still works great. Even when it gets cold in my apartment in winter, it easily heats my tank and the adjustable temperature is just what I need. I really appreciate the indicator light letting me know the heater is not heating the tank too much and is heating the entire tank with ease. My fish never feel the need to huddle around the heater and enjoy exploring the entire tank all day. It has also survived

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Empty

Used 6 months, not turned off, almost cooked a fish

DO NOT BELIEVE REVIEWS FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE USED THIS HEATER LESS THAN HALF A MONTH! They're not stupid or anything, they just haven't had a heater long enough to fail. for my two 7 gallon tanks. The two heaters didn't stop working last week which I found because the water was much warmer than usual when I went to feed my fish. The tanks were between 86 and 88 degrees, although set at 78 or 80 degrees. Luckily I found the problem just before the fish died. When I took the heaters out of the…

I love it so much it's in all my tanks and I keep a backup!

I have a 5.5 gallon tank and a 10 gallon tank and this heater works great on both! I found the first one I got for my 5.5 gallons didn't quite reach the set temp so I had to go overboard but it still worked great. When I got my 10 gallons and went to the local pet store the owner told me to let the heater sit in the water for 30 minutes before turning it on and it worked! Thinking I might have broken the first one, I ordered a third heater. However when I did a 5.5 gallon water change I left…
