Description of Arducam IoTai ESP32 CAM WiFi Bluetooth for Arduino UNO, PSRAM Development Board with OV2640 Camera Module

Arducam IoTai is based on ESP-32S module, uses onboard 4MByte PSRAM and 2MP OV2640 camera module, which makes it possible to capture and process the image. Fully compliant with WiFi 802.11b/g/n/e/i and Bluetooth 4.2 standards, supports both Arduino IDE and ESP-IDF software development tools, and keeps the same form of factors and pin-out as the standard Arduino UNO R3 board. Powered by micro USB or lithium battery, supports lithium battery recharging. The onboard camera interface can directly connect most of the parallel port cameras like OV2640, OV7670, OV7725 and etc. This board can also work with Arducam multi camera adapter (ASIN: B07TYL36MC), which makes this board can connect multiple SPI cameras (up to 4). Supports face detection and recognition in low frame rate, supports three low power wake-up modes, very suitable for home security, industrial wireless control and other IoT applications.

Battery connection reversed

This board is excellent in almost every way except the battery connection is reversed. If you buy a lipo battery with a 2mm JST connector it will fit, but the positive and negative leads will be connected to the wrong pins on the board. You will need to cut the JST connector on the battery and solder the included JST wire. There should be documentation about it in the package.

Faulty single board computer

SD card doesn't work for me. I've tried two different SD cards formatted as Fat16 and Fat32 to no avail. There is absolutely no documentation, not even URLs in the package. Trying to guess the right board model and camera version is futile. I sent it back and will look for another brand that values their customers by at least letting them know the URL or hardware features and that has better quality control.

Surprised it's not more popular

Works as advertised. Having a good selection of pins and a built in camera is just nice. If you're using a Mac, don't use Safari with the Face Recognition sample because for some reason Safari is severely slowed down when streaming live video from the device. In this case I had very good luck with Firefox.

Great board! Best Computer Components

This is a great board. I used the ESP32 CAM module before this board and had some troubles with it and it was tedious to program. This board makes programming extremely easy with built in USB circuitry and the camera works much better than my other board. The battery connector works great and works like a UPS (you can turn off USB power and the battery will turn on without interrupting service). Very reliable and feature rich board, highly recommended!

flashing sequence. for computers and accessories

Flash sequence. Install a jumper. In D9 or Io0/A11/T1 on this board. Then run the script. When this "Exit..." message appears. Hard reset via RTS… contact. my definition. Remove toggle switch. then hold reset. Open the serial monitor. Your code should appear. any questions, I'll be happy to answer them.
