Good price and quality - no reservations

If you have a BMW and you are working on your car, this is a must. To remove the spark plugs you need a thin-walled 12-point head - conventional sockets do not fit into the bore in the cylinder block. I like that the base is hinged to the 12" extension - there is no risk of the base coming loose and getting stuck in the hole. It is also very practical that the socket has a magnet that ensures that the socket holds on to the plug when it is pulled out. Great quality and for $16 you don't have to

Buy this for spark plugs and ignition tools

During the quarantine I had time to fix my own car. After watching a video on how to change the spark plugs on my Volvo XC60, I realized I was going to need some tools. The fact that this 14mm extension head costs as much as many other heads was the reason I bought it. The fact that it was made by Ares gave me confidence it was quality. I am not a professional and this tool is not used on a daily basis. But I'm a tool person and I don't buy anything that doesn't give me ROI. This socket and…

Essential for replacing Subaru spark plugs

This is one of those tools that is of very limited use to the average weekend mechanic; but when you need it, nothing else will do. That's exactly what you need to get the job done. I doubt I would have been able to change all of the spark plugs on my 2015 Heritage without this tool, especially the driver's side. Once the airbox is removed you can probably replace the passenger side plugs without this tool, but the driver side is a different story. The one closer to the rear of the engine is…

This spark plug boot worked where others couldn't.

I was able to successfully change the spark plugs on my wife's 2013 Subaru Outback with this socket and a 1" extension. Both a regular 14mm deep head and a straight 14mm spark plug head will not fit. The 14mm hole depth was not long enough and the straight 14mm head did not fit into the spark plug recess due to the frame guide getting in the way. This rotating nest made the nasty task relatively easy. a 3/8" swivel attached to a 14mm socket, I don't think this will work well. The main problem…
