A tool I never knew I needed but is now essential.

These things are really handy. I use this often to adapt my favorite 1/4" air ratchet to 3/8" sockets and to adapt my 3/8" cordless ratchet to 1/2" sockets. They literally only add 1/4 inch to the length. The grooved outside is also useful for turning the bolt by hand only. Haven't used the big one yet and doubt I will but for the price who cares. Mechanic, buy a kit or 2.

Pros
  • Tools and household goods
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Wish it came with a 1 " adapter

I bought this set to replace the even more compact T&E "Tophat" adapter set (https://www.amazon.com/gp /product /B00CX7HRUY/ ). The quality seems good and I'm sure they will do the job. My only concern is that the Ares version doesn't come with a 1" adapter - the only one I actually need. On the other hand, T&E seems to be imported from Australia, so their products tend to be less affordable than Ares.

Pros
  • Socket wrench
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Great design but not sure about durability

At first I thought it was a great idea. After moderate use I broke the adapter from 3/8 to 1/2. It was only used with the 3/8 Cordless Percussion Pistol. It broke right away. After it was taken apart it dawned on me that from 3/8 to 1/2 on each side only 1/16 inch of the wall was left. How hard can it be? I like them as I'm a pro and use them a lot so I bought this set to replace my broken one. No, I don't have time for a warranty, I buy tools and expect them to work and last a long time. I…

Good Value - Sockets

I have to say I am not a big fan of manganese phosphate coatings as they do not provide adequate protection against rust in a damp environment. just not pleasant to touch. Now that I've got that out of the way, I really like the low profile of these adapters. While I may never use them on my impact wrench, they're still very useful for hand ratchets. This set is approximately 33% shorter than my chrome adapters, making it much easier to get into those hard-to-reach places. I also like the…

Excellent value for money for hand tools

I have to say I'm not a big fan of manganese phosphate coatings because they don't offer adequate protection against rust in wet environments, plus they just don't feel good on.
