Works as described

I fouled the spark plug threads on my Ariens snow thrower when replacing a spark plug that was difficult to access. When I felt things going badly I backed down but noticed that the top threads were badly damaged. Really freaked out. But I watched a few YouTube videos and made sure I can use the thread hunter to rewind the thread and avoid very expensive repairs at the shop. Works great in Tools & Equipment

I don't know how the spark plug hole got cross-threaded. But it happened. So here's the thing. These thread cutters come in different sizes. Make sure you get exactly what you need. Using vernier calipers, measure the plunger and then measure the tapping chuck. Align the threads side by side. Then dip the working part into the grease. Great tool for deep and hard to reach spark plugs

I like to clean the spark plug threads every time I change spark plugs and this tool does it well. While this may seem excessive to some, I prefer to be extra cautious with modern aluminum heads. The thread can easily break and be damaged, and repairing a torn cork is not interesting. It doesn't take a lot of time to use this tool and I find using this tool with some oil on the threads works very well. This is a tap, not a tap, but you still need to be careful when using it.
