I like that it's light gray striped rather than white. Finished with UV-resistant epoxy resin. Works well with a sponge brush. But the sponge must be thrown away after use.

Pros: • Fairly thick/no transparency • Overlap is really invisible • Easy to adjust during application • Easy to smooth out bubbles with a credit card • Realistic vein pattern Cons: • Adhesive wasn't strong enough, especially when wrapping Edge. I had to add glue. • A bit difficult to cover a large/long area without assistance.

This mottled contact paper is great for the job once you know how to use it. Remember it's not opaque so make sure the surface you apply it to is a solid color (preferably white). The most important tip is to attach the paper in the direction of the roll. If you go perpendicular to how it's folded, you're more likely to get air pockets. An added bonus is that the contact paper itself comes with a ruler and mini-knife, both of which come in very handy when using it.

I used this to paint over kitchen worktops a strange dark gray hue. I made sure to wash the counters and let them dry before applying them. Was easy to install. People say it's a job for two. To be honest with a countertop, it's easier if one person lays it down and the other person helps with the corners. Especially on rounded corners.
