ARP Bolts Falls Short

Based on my experience, these bolts did not live up to the hype of being stainless steel. I noticed rust after only a few weeks of use. While they may have been sturdy and reliable for a short time, I would not recommend these for long-term use in an automotive application.

Pros
  • Decent reliability initially.
Cons
  • Rust issues despite being labeled as stainless steel.

.21 " shorter than OEM, works with thin steel differential cover OEM

This is a .79" long thread with no washer. OEM's are 0.98" long without the shim. They fit fine except where the spilled brake line attaches to the top of the diff cover. That's just over an inch plus a shim.

Pros
  • Rated 170,000 psi, significantly stronger than Class 8 units
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

1970 8.2 BOP to fit main bolt and stud

I love ARP gear and the quality of every part I get. In every project I've done, I try to include ARP in every hardware need I come across. Reason for only 4 stars, length could be 1/8"-1/4" longer. My rear BOP 8.2 has a recessed thread. They caught and tightened to spec, but I'd feel better if I had a few more threads.

Pros
  • Constructed from attractive, durable, corrosion resistant stainless steel
Cons
  • New competitors have emerged
