What I like about this stand are the long pins. This is a must if you use threaded chatterboxes. Sturdy plastic and looks good. Not the easiest to assemble. I bought two screw holes that are too narrow making it difficult to tighten the very small washer and screw. The washers are magnetic, the screws are not. I had to use tweezers to hold the screw in place.

The perfect place to store thread! I bought two of these to use on my 5000m spools of embroidery thread. You are wonderful! The assembly took a while, that's the only thing that's a bit annoying about these coasters. Assembled, they can simply be hung on the wall. I put them in studs because the weight of the filament can get heavy with large spools. Since I use them for large spools, I put the spindles in every other slot that's perfect for them. This is an attractive thread stand with lots of variety as it holds all sizes of thread spools and cones. What I found difficult was the assembly process. I love it so much I bought it straight away ordered something else. Yes, as other reviewers say, there are no assembly instructions, but there are plenty of tiny screws and washers. They're not easy to work with if you have anything other than nimble, thin fingers and good eyesight. We bought and installed four of these. They work as advertised. The pins fit snugly but are easy to remove or reinstall and pull out or slide into the base; Fortunately, the pens don't use screws. Reviews warned that the shelf was difficult to assemble. They are not difficult, but tedious. Updated March 2016 I ordered a second filament rack and this was much easier to assemble. I was able to use a magnetic screwdriver on this one and I had it together in just a few minutes. The screw heads were larger than the first one I got and no more washers to contend with. Since I previously only complained about the complexity of the assembly, I now give it 5 stars. This seems to mean that you just have to insert the pins, but no, you have to assemble the whole thing. Yes, the screws are small. I suggest using a small magnetized screwdriver.
