Made in India from solid wood and beautifully finished. However, there are a few spots where wood putty has been used heavily to cover up wood imperfections (see image) and the putty has visibly discolored. The end result was nice and strong. Definitely higher quality than most Ashley furniture. Solid wood has a rich, beautiful finish. What a theft! Assembly was my only problem. This item is garbage, don't waste your money and buy something else. The photos show that the goods left the manufacturer damaged. Either they don't have quality control or they don't test their product well. The table itself is easy and shouldn't take more than 10-15 minutes as it only takes 8 screws to assemble. I bought this table for my bedroom as extra storage for books, papers etc. He is gorgeous. Delivered relatively quickly, well packaged. The color corresponds to the photo, very durable. Tips: 1. Thread/unscrew each bolt from each held nut to clean the threads and see which nuts were installed off-center or at an angle; repeat alignment if necessary. 2. Before final assembly, apply a spoonful of oil to the tip of each screw or thread them through a damp bar of soap. 3. The wood of this table is quite nice and the thickness of the wood is quite good. Those are the two stars I gave. However, the holes in the wood were sooooo badly drilled! One of the legs was warped (too narrow at the bottom) so the holes didn't line up with the bottom shelf. Therefore, real strength was required to straighten the legs so that the equipment could be installed. Then there was a screw at the top that just didn't fit. When I first ordered this table it arrived in an already opened box with tape on it. After opening it, I found that the structural support for the leg attachment was broken and beyond repair. I checked the order, called Ashley Furniture as per the return instructions, waited a very long time and was then directed to call Revane instead.
