Great item at a great price

I got this VTEC to fix my Honda CRV, it works great, I've had no problems. The only small issue I had was one of the bolt holes I had to drill because the factory that made this VTEC didn't drill one of the holes. The supplied gasket is fine, I just used the original gasket and kept the one that came with it as a backup.

MAINTAIN AND BUY OEM VALVE

My Honda had code P2646. I confirmed that the Vtec pressure sensor was faulty and ordered this valve instead of the factory one hoping to save money. Big mistake. Valve installed and car started. Not only was it leaking because the o-ring/filter assembly was scrap, but I immediately got my check engine light on and code P2647. This valve was junk right out of the box. The original Honda valve solved the problem. Don't skimp on this part. Buy genuine Honda parts.

Viki control valve best in switches

I have a 2003 Honda Accord ex 2.4, my test engine showed it was a wiki control valve. I ordered this product because it was cheap. It did not work. Sent back the first one and exchanged it for another. That didn't work either, I ended up going to the junkyard and getting one there. Since then there have been no problems. If you have the same problem. Do not buy this valve, you will end up changing it very quickly. Dealer wants $220 for $15 at the junkyard. if you find a good one

while it works fine.

It's been about a week, I drive a lot, so there are a lot of kilometers on the solenoid valve. Tip: Replace the valve coil shield on the front of the engine when replacing the Vtec solenoid. Do not use 5w30 on K-series engines even if they have high mileage. I have 240k on a CRV and still only use 0w20 or 5w20 synthetics. I saw a review where someone said just use a thicker oil. No, do not use thicker oil. I've been a mechanic for over 30 years and Honda is usually unlucky with parts but so far
