Get two units; None worked

I ordered one of those cheap SWR modules. When it arrived, the bottom button under the chassis was pressed. Revane sent me another squad. The bottom button was also damaged on the new device, but not as badly; the slide knob was loose and had no tension. I tried to use the device but could not set the starting point for the SWR test. I think the damage to the bottom button is due to the devices being packed too tightly for shipping; apply excessive pressure to the bottom button. I would suggest

Purchased as a field strength meter, not a built in SWR or power meter. It works great with a pair of daisy chain wires as an antenna on 6m and also on HF. No complaints. This is NOT a test fixture and I have no idea how much power it will handle. I didn't connect anything to the coax ports at all. I removed the included antenna from the square mounting nut and used clamp wires to increase the length and it worked great for its purpose (tuning high power amplifiers for maximum power).

Accuracy?: Network Antennas

This would be a nice little device for real time monitoring of a broadcast CB or RF signal. However, the wattmeter reading on the device I received is much lower than it really is. For example, my CW signal on HF showed about 90 watts on both my MFJ crosspointer meter and my RadioShack certified meters. At the same moment, this block of the astatic meter showed about 40 watts. This gross inaccuracy may be an accident observed only on the specific gauge I received. May be. When I have time I'll…

Cons
  • Quality

The SWR function seems decent but the power is very unreliable for accuracy. These are both 10w and 100w ranges. So if you need to adjust the peak power of the radio this will help, but you don't know the exact output power. I found that one of the side bushings was loose, so I pinched it with pliers. I then checked my SWR again and I had maximum reflected power. Opening the cover I saw that when tightening the screw that held the connector in place from the outside, the internal connection was

Works perfectly! Well I don't really have anything.

works great! Well I don't really have anything to calibrate it with but if you're like me and just have some cheap CB gear this will at least get you started. As everyone says, the instructions that come with it make a pretty good kindling, but no more. This is a common model though, just search "SWR tuning" and half the YouTube videos that come up use this radio. The only complaint I have is the fragility of the small field strength antenna. My cat managed to rip it off in about 10 minutes…

Works great (with a little tweaking)

I found the SWR to be good for my HF setup and was close to what my antenna tuner was putting out. The wattmeter was off A LOT - binding the meter when running at full power. I opened the case and noticed that the trims for the power meter were all set to the same value (hmmm). Plugged it in with the back and started trimming the 100 watt potentiometer (closest to the ANT connector). Within range, adjust it to match the radio output. The meter now scales well from 10W to 100W. I also had to…

Works but has RF issues

I bought this for use in a mobile RF setup. This works for the most part, but the SWR meter on the right "jams" when the needle swerves to the left past 0 when removing the key, and I have to press on the box to pull it off and bring it back to 0 . I use this to tune my screwdriver antenna to different areas. Finding the minimum SWR is fine, but I don't trust the actual reading as it's lower than what my MFJ antenna analyzer shows. Radio output power, then reverse (REV) to read the SWR; I'm…
