Review on πŸ“Ά Astatic (302-PDC2) Black SWR/RF/Field Strength Test Meter: High Accuracy for Optimal Signal Performance by Erica Jackson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not a bad relative power meter when you peak/tune the transmitter, inaccurate

The SWR function seems decent but the power is very unreliable for accuracy. These are both 10w and 100w ranges. So if you need to adjust the peak power of the radio this will help, but you don't know the exact output power. I found that one of the side bushings was loose, so I pinched it with pliers. I then checked my SWR again and I had maximum reflected power. Opening the cover I saw that when tightening the screw that held the connector in place from the outside, the internal connection was twisted and shorted to ground. By simply moving this connection everything was fine again. Check out some YouTube videos on coax jumper lengths with built in SWR meters. This is useful when tuning an antenna if you don't plan on leaving the meter in the line after tuning.
