I tried to build something better.

I was trying to build a car with similar characteristics at a similar price. Basically what I needed was this: a slim case with a clean look and plenty of I/O ports - a DVD drive - a good built-in Wi-Fi (even this computer has an antenna) - a good power supply for my Radeon Pro card (it remains to be seen, but I will update if I run into problems) - must have at least 6 physical cores - at least 8 GB RAM (I thought 16 but 12 is fine) - at least 512 GB ssd I have everything plus Windows 10 Proโ€ฆ

You get what is advertised.

Excellent system. Quickly. No questions. It worked the first time. One small issue is that ASUS chose to create two non-consecutive partitions on the 500GB drive. One for OS and one for DATA. Why? Not a big problem and I've already fixed it. The second small issue is that all USB 3.0 ports are only on the back panel. All in all fantastic value for money. Good product. Unfortunately, all USB 3.0 ports are on the front. USB 2.0 are on the back. USB 3.0 ports on the front and back would be niceโ€ฆ

Asus ExpertCenter is no expert at all when it comes to business.

The first thing I would like to say is that Asus is a great company and they make great products. I've been buying from them for almost 20 years and have never had a complaint. Asus Expert Center d500sa positions itself as a business calculator. But this isn't the kind of computer you want to buy if you need to set it up quickly to get it up and running. First of all, the Windows 10 product key does not come with the computer. You need to contact Asus Support to get a product key. I have notโ€ฆ

Good price, limited resolution, poor customer service

I was trying to connect to an ultra wide (3440 x 1440) monitor. I was only able to get a lower resolution via the HDMI port. Using the digital display port resulted in a correct resolution but a flickering display. Called support, had to call multiple times to get to the right department and they couldn't share the collected data between departments which is quite inefficient. The final feedback was that the computer cannot work with this resolution without any suggestion to solve this problemโ€ฆ

Very Good But Limited PC

Let's start with the pros: Buying on Prime Day for <500 is great. At that price I couldn't build a 64-bit Micro-ATX Win10 system from scratch. Fast and quiet enough for my general (business, non-gaming) needs. The first launch was uneventful, the recording was uneventful. Now for the main downside: expandability, which ASUS says is seamless. A second 8GB of RAM was easily added to the motherboard, but the specs say the motherboard has two NVMe slots. Not correct. One of them is occupied byโ€ฆ

Great out-of-the-box small form factor PC

I haven't looked at the specs on this and other similar machines, but for the same price ($630 at the time of writing this article) you can get a DS700 with 8 GB, which can be expanded to 128 GB instead of 64 GB. It could be better in terms of a "future-proof" device you want to get. So be sure to check all specifications before making a decision. However, this is a great little computer that's ready to go right out of the box. I wanted something small for my desk but expandable in the futureโ€ฆ

Pros

  • Not everything fits
