By far the best hardware in its price range

My box is fully loaded with four 10TB Seagate Exos drives, two 512GB SSDs (cache only) and 16GB RAM (that's more than specified by the CPU manufacturer and Asustor) . 8GB max, but when 16GB is recognized I haven't had any problems yet). The hardware is top notch and comes from the folks at Asus. The only limitation I have is that I come from a Synology machine that is 4 years old and the software is definitely more user friendly than Asustor. Great add-on for your network/home

This is my fifth NAS box. I have Netgear Readnas 104, 2 4TB wdmyclouds and 16TB WDMycloud ultra. This box was purchased with two 12TB Segate Enterprise hard drives. I later added 2 more and that's why it only gets 4 stars. I added 2 more drives after putting about 6TB of movies on them and it took 3 days to transfer the data to the 3rd/4th. distribute drive. Sometimes it won't let me connect to my network and it takes a minute or two to wake up. I accidentally disconnected it from the network…

I'm in love with NAS

So far everything has been plug and play. Easy one-click integration with apps on my phone, Google Gmail integration, and apps on my Windows clients. Two NVME cards ($80 each here at AMZN) and an additional 8GB flash drive ($20) were added, and yes, it's a very fast machine.
