I have the one with the shoulders that connect to the collar, I've never had one but it fits much better, more mobility on my arms. The material is nice and soft, the stitching is almost perfect and the length is just right. I washed it twice and it held its shape and didn't fade which is nice.

Side slit goes above the waist. But it sits well on the neck. I'm 5ft 11" so unless you're around 5ft 6" I would choose a different brand. You can practically see my boxer shorts when I put my hands up. Look at the picture.
