Better than expected but remember; it's $5 apiece.

You get what you pay for. The Striker and Flint are surprisingly effective, as is the height of the whistle. The band is quite large so if you have small wrists it can be a bit large even when fully tightened. Mind you, the compass is pretty accurate (you really weren't expecting accuracy, were you?). Note, however, that the readings are amomolar unless you remove the bracelet before checking the direction. The striker is magnetized and with its help the compass acts on your wrist. It took me a

The compass works, you just don't know how to use it

I just got them so I don't have much time with them and will update them if anything changes. I like it at the moment. The paracord adjustment is very helpful considering I have fairly small wrists. The forward is pretty decent but he's not needed at the moment. The whistle is loud and the clip is solid. Most importantly, despite all the negative reviews pointing to it, the compasses work great. They point north as they should. Of course you have to loosen the strap because of the metal part…

. Breaking in time to loosen up and wear comfortably

My only complaint about them is that they are very stiff and need a break in period to loosen up and wear comfortably. The whistle is loud, the compass works, there are lighters. If you don't mind wearing them in your daily life to loosen them up and make them more comfortable, I highly recommend them. Drag them down to the smallest size so they fit relatively snugly, but they're still loose fitting. If you're shorter than me or a woman, they might just slide off you, even on the lowest…

Basically a waste of time

I don't think this item will work really well although I didn't untangle the paracord that needs to be cut to unroll so let's have no hesitation. I can't get the firestarter to generate enough sparks. You'll have to disassemble the buckle to remove a sliver of metal that presumably serves as an emergency knife (it would fit comfortably on the quarters) and try to rub it against the firesteel between your fingertips, hard enough to create a spark. After about a minute of trying, my fingers were…

The compass works.

I read reviews that the compass is not working properly. These surveys, which also showed pictures, showed that the compass was not pointing north. But what struck me was that in these images, the bracelet was attached to the user's hand. That's the problem. It seems some people don't understand how the MAGNETIC compass works. When the bracelet is buckled, the magnetic compass is right next to the metal lighter. The metal head causes the compass to show the wrong direction due to the magnet in…

Flint function needs an overhaul

As attractive as the block is, I have trouble with flint. Compass and whistle work great. The adjustment to my wrist works great. The adjuster is uncomfortable when carrying the device with the compass up. However, with the adjuster facing up and the compass buckle down, it's more natural on a flat writing surface. My problem concerns Funkenstein. Since the set consists of two pieces, which I gave to my nephew, the flint sparkles quite well. With my unit, I took the paint off the flint for a…

Surprisingly well done and simple

I'm blind but I'm camping in the middle of nowhere with no cell service, no hospital and nothing around. No I'm not crazy enough to try to go alone, I wouldn't even if they saw me to be honest. lol. 2 minutes after opening I found compass, whistle, emergency knife and fire. Starter. Of course I can't use a compass, but I can find the direction of travel in another way, maybe not as accurate as a compass, but if I need to go west I can LoL. I have to scrape it off before it lights up. I found a…

Poor quality, most functions unreliable at best

So the two compasses point in completely opposite directions. This is a big number one problem that you can see even before you take them out of the box. In addition, the metal bat is arranged to directly affect the compass. So you can't even use a worker for a quick stock check, you actually have to detach it to remove the metal bat from it. IMO that defeats the purpose of its presence, I was primarily interested in a small compass on my wrist to check a quick bearing so I don't have to get my
