I've only had this turntable since yesterday, but it works perfectly. At first I thought we had the same problem as other reviews - turntable on arrival. The belt attachment instructions show how it should sit on the drive pin, but it doesn't specify *where* the drive pin is located. I suspect people who get "dead" turntables are putting the strap in the wrong pin. Look at my photo - it's easy to make a mistake.

This turntable is very affordable and I recommend it to collectors who are just getting into the hobby and don't want to spend a lot.
