These placemats are amazing quality for the price. Yes, they need to be ironed, they are 100% cotton! If you don't want to iron, buy polyester (looks cheap and slips off your knees). I bought them for our Christmas table and they looked beautiful. I washed and ironed them and am very happy with them.

I bought these towels because I had several other 100% cotton towels that I have washed, bleached and folded with no problem. I doubted the napkins would wrinkle based on the reviews. Yes, they wrinkle, especially after the first wash. I ironed. But now, after 4-5 washes, the napkins are becoming softer and more bearable for everyday use, like my old ones. Drying on the medium also helps. I enjoy them very much! They are very absorbent and just what I was looking for.

This is definitely not 20"x20". I measured with a tape measure when they arrived and each of the napkins was approximately 18.5" x 18.5". Then I washed all the cloths and when they were dry I measured again and everything was about 18" x 18". So if you are expecting a 20" x 20" napkin, you will be disappointed. These are good quality wipes but the advertising is a little misleading: they are by no means 'wrinkle resistant'. They need to be ironed out of the dryer. And they are not 20x20 - but 18x18 - 18.5x18.5 when stretched. Another small issue is the label: it's made of a synthetic material that melts when ironed onto cotton. Cut them off before ironing.
