Provides useful information and instructions. There are also many interesting patterns. I only gave it 4 stars because I would have liked more patterns for men and boys. After trying the first pattern, I found a big gap in the book. The first example says to use a double loop. The problem is that there are no instructions or details anywhere in the book on what/how to do this. I find this to be a major disadvantage for a beginner and tend to discourage newbies from this hobby.

I'm new to knitting in general, but I can get by with a basic loom, double/satin stitch in particular. I'm just starting out with more complex stitches. I tried testing one of the patterns (the headline on the cover) and found the instructions and photos to be of only half use.
