Connected to stock gauge to replace LS

Get a standard metric converter and plug it into the block on cylinder 7 then run a cable from it to your gauge and it works great .

Sensor Temperature Sensor

used on my replacement LS with recommended adapter it was absorbing the external heat of the collectors resulting in incorrect sensor readings.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Expensive

Ideal for restricted areas

I bought this sensor to monitor the temperature of my transmission on my '98 Volvo. I added a 1/8 NPT tee to the "outlet" line. I couldn't use a "regular" size thermistor because I didn't have enough adapter depth. AutoMeter expects you to purchase a "short-stroke" sensor for this temperature sensor to function properly. There is no way I would buy a $60-$200 sensor. To make this sensor work with my digital meter I ran a ground wire to the threads of the sensor so you can use whatever meter you

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Problems

Temp Sensor - Sensors

used on my replacement LS with recommended adapter, Temp Sensor does not have a piston assembly like most coolant temp sensors which allows the temp sensor to read the coolant temp first, but once the manifolds were warmed up, it absorbed external heat from the manifolds, causing the meter to read incorrectly.

Pros
  • Sender Thread Size 1/8'-27 NPT
Cons
  • Repair

It looks like a standard temperature sensor that comes with the Sport.

Works as advertised. It looks like the stock temperature sensor that comes with the sport sensors, only it's shorter. Doesn't look like the picture. Required to install a temperature sensor in some block adapters. My application was an adapter for GM 2.2 Ecotec. The adapter was not large enough to fit a standard transmitter.

Pros
  • Sold by the piece
Cons
  • Not sure

Gauge works great

I ordered this and the Auto Meter metric adapter 2277 to replace my 5.3 LS with my 1969 Chevy truck with stock gauges. . The adapter fits perfectly. . People who are having problems with adapters, I've been told by Auto Meter, are trying to run the transmitters that come with their Auto Meter sensor, and I suspect they differ by Auto Meter. Just to clarify, if you run this transmitter with the 2277 Auto Meter Adapter it will work. . . Hope this helps someone in the future. I know I was confused

Pros
  • Only works with 1995 to present gauges
Cons
  • Only available in white
