🚗 Toyota Tacoma Idle Air Control Valve AC197: Perfect Fit for 3.4L-V6 Models (97-04) Review

Installed this part two days ago to replace a broken OEM idle control valve. So far this part has worked as intended and the downtime issue I was having is gone. Update: I've had this part enabled for about two months now and it continues to work as expected.

Installed this unit on a '99 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6. I did not receive code P505. I received code P172. Too rich bank code one. Almost the same day I noticed that the truck idled and shifted better and the fuel economy was about 20% better than my old truck. Which, I have to say, was original to the truck for 16 years.

Unfortunately the unit I received was not working. I installed it and my idle hasn't gone back to normal. It's about 1200 rpm. I isolated the IAC valve as the problem. Given the quality of these parts, I wouldn't be surprised if I came across an inferior one. I would return it but don't want to take it off my truck until I have a replacement. Thank you for reading. It ran fine for about 15 miles and then all hell broke loose. At idle the car has 1750, and when accelerating it jerks like crazy. I cleaned and reinstalled the original part and it is WAAAAAAA better than this new part. I took the part apart and found that there was a small retaining spring inside that controlled the valve stem tension which is now missing and probably went through my engine. Update: The replacement came even worse than the first! JunkOriginal review: My 2000 4runner v6 4wd was having low idle issues and revving around 400-600 while driving. On this new IAC I'm running both idle and idling at about 1200 rpm, hot and cold engine. Check the engine light by giving a code P0505 (IAC fault) after about 50 miles of driving, even after resetting/disconnecting the battery and EFI and clearing the code with OBD.
