Delivers high quality video and audio over Ethernet as promised

Used to send signals from Xbox One X to TV over Ethernet. The devices are of good quality and well assembled. Installation was easy, plug and play; it just worked. Excellent picture quality, no ghosting, lag or weird artifacts. The movement is smooth and the gameplay has not changed. The unit does get warm as others have noted, so I installed it using the brackets that came with it, leaving a small air gap between the base of the unit and the wall. Very happy with the purchase.

Pros
  • Long range

  • Issues

Not as good as HDMI over fiber. Maybe good for a short time.

Using 70ft Cat 7 shielded 4K HDR cable between Marantz AVR and JVC RS2000 projector. The signal was worse with this extender than with an HDMI active fiber optic cable of about the same length. With movies, the signal broke a few times and the HDMI handshake took longer with this extender than with fiber. Switching from this extender to fiber reduced the handshake time from 20 seconds to 5 seconds. I recommend fiber optic (like Ruipro) instead of an extension cord if it suits your case.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

HDMI to Ethernet Converter

Firstly I have a 30ft HDMI cable for the projector and anything over 25ft the projector was finicky and wouldn't connect. I used a repeater and about 4 different cables rated at 50ft for 4k at 60Hz. None of them worked. I went to Best Buy and they had the starting price of an HDMI to Ethernet converter. $399 I laughed and asked if he was joking. This is not new technology. I ordered this device after seeing an article on a website that said it was a good option for the price. It was actually…

Works great for my people

New TV and due to the size it was necessary to move the set to another cabinet where the amp was. I used to use Category 5E/6 Ethernet cable, so I suggested this route to avoid RF signal issues and possible audio delays. Works perfectly. If you want to minimize holes, you can install an optical cable and attach the ends after routing the cable. Otherwise, use an Ethernet cable long enough for your work and don't fiddle with connectors. I used a category 6 outdoor cable as I use it for other…

Unique PC gaming solution - 4k@60Hz (YUV 4:4:4) [4KEX70-H2]

Fantastic 4k@60Hz (YUV 4:4:4) HDMI extender. YUV is very important to maintain clarity at high resolution! This expander solved one of the biggest technical limitations I've ever encountered. I'm a PC gamer and have been stuck on a desktop PC in my office so far. I wanted a solution where I could play on the computer with my wife in the living room. I didn't want to spend $2,000 on a gaming laptop that would be obsolete in 2-3 years, and I didn't want to move my desktop PC since the office…

Pros
  • Only positive

Really works! best computer components

I have previously tested 5 different brands/models of HDMI 4k extenders and they all had their issues except this one. My use case is video from Nvidia Shield TV to Denon receiver to HDMI extender via can6a about 30ft to Epson projector. The image even appears behind the splash screen (most other models didn't go behind the splash screen) and in 4k (that was another brand's problem), and CEC mostly works. The shutdown command on the Nvidia Shield turns the projector off, but unfortunately…

  • Good product for the price

Works very well but receiver gets terribly hot

Works very well but receiver gets terribly hot! I've used it with a GTX 1080 and now a GTX 1080 Ti to play video games from my PC on a Samsung KS8500 series 4K TV. I strongly recommend keeping it isolated from other devices and in a well-ventilated place. I keep it on my AV stand and there are no other components within 12 inches. I still overheated several times. I turned it upside down, with the vented bottom of the case facing up. That helps, but when the room temperature hits 75F or a bit…
