Great electronic tool that can be customised. You can remove solder at different angles on different circuits and wires.

Cheap and cheerful. It works, but there is no certainty that it will work tomorrow. But for the money and the delivery everything was fine.

I rarely need to desolder, but it came in handy when I needed to remove a 5 pin DIN connector from a table tennis robot board. He sucked out the solder and spat it out cold.

If you only have a few small areas to desolder, that's good. If you need something to remove the keyboard switch, I'd spend $30 and buy something with stronger suction and a flexible tip. I have found that this tool needs cleaning after 10 uses. Then it was constantly necessary to wipe the interior and the spring.

Worked well for a week. Then the plunger lock stopped working and the plunger popped out every time I pressed it. Even when it worked, it didn't pull much. Added a thicker o-ring and used some grease which helped a bit. The tolerances are too high to actually work properly. I assembled the PSU, it seemed like it should start and I have no problems. save your money

I used it to replace some components on the radio board. He did his job excellently. It is mainly made of plastic with a metal spring and shaft. When the pump is turned on, a metal rod passes through the inlet, effectively cleaning it of solder after the last suction, and then retracts slightly so that it is not visible during use. so it doesn't cut or pinch your fingers. I wouldn't call this tool "heavy duty" and wouldn't recommend it for "everyday" use. But it does its job well and is durable

Most of the time I prefer desoldering pumps to wicks. I have tried different pumps, this is the newest. I originally started with a subtle dark blue from Radio Shack. While I liked the fast action, the tube broke in less than a month of moderate use. So I went for a simple lamp style. Does the job but is not as efficient as a plunger which requires multiple uses which can be detrimental to the PCB and the part being desoldered.
