I was opening the wrong chamber. Make sure not to open near base as battery will not come out. You have to open near top. So my review below is not correct.This light does not have huge amounts of light output but I don’t need it as it just wakes me up. I only buy Surefire flashlights. Although they're always the most expensive, you definitely get what you pay for. They're absolutely bombproof. Of all the Surefires I've owned, this one easily wins the coveted position as my daily carry. It lives in my backpack and goes with me all over the country.
