🔧 Upgraded Brake Pad Pin Set for Avid Elixir CR R 5 3 Review

Installed Elixir 1 on my wife's bike with brakes to avoid wedging every time the pads are changed. Apparently the Elixir 1 doesn't have threads for these pins. Luckily I have a metric tap and a set of dies so I could thread and install the calipers. I like how they work now.

I bought these pins in case I lost the little latch on the end of the existing pin on some brake work I was doing. Of course, that little clip flew off into the distance when I took it off. Having these replacement parts was a great relief. This is a small price to pay for essential gear. Get this if you're doing work that requires you to remove pads. The supplier delivered as advertised and on time.

This pin set contains two pins and two electronic clips as shown in the photo and the pins work with all the brakes listed as well as the Avid XX brakes I have on my mountain bike . Plus, they use standard hex keys (not Torx) so even the simplest multi-tools are just the right size. The black finish isn't just for show - I've ridden in the rain, rivers and streams and so far they don't seem to rust.
