24 volt wiring vs 12 volt wiring

I rewired my house to 24 volts and am using this device at the end of the line to drop the voltage down to 12 volts. Works great, I use it for lights, fans, multi cooker and fridge. I use a 200w inverter to run the air conditioner and multi cooker fans. This is the only option if you want to run more devices without the 12v system dropping.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Disappear

Robust regulator

I use it to regulate the battery power/regeneration of my e-bike (52V) to 12V to power several LED drivers for headlights and brake lights. As long as it works properly. I like that everything is potted and solid. It sees spikes around 59V and hasn't been a problem after a few months of use so I'm happy with it. It doesn't seem to be heating but I'm drawing <1A at 12V.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • So far so good

A good product. on Power Accessories

This thing is a beast, I tested it at 8.86 amps DC and it got a little warm (88.6 F). Easy to use, just connect 24 or more volts and you get just over 12 volts. Has anyone tested the actual maximum workload? I know the max current is 20 amps. I am currently using this item to run a Samlex 250 inverter. I think the two items go well together. Good product.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Compatibility

We don't use light very often, but .

We don't use the light too much but the converter is working well so far. I added an input and output circuit breaker to protect the converter. I also noticed that this type of converter has a high inrush current when it is switched on. I added 0.5 ohms in series with the input to reduce inrush current. This is not prescribed by the seller - just my "trick".

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Not automatic

Working just not within the stated values

This is a metal box with fans. According to the spec listed on the Revain (see image), the input voltage range is 15 to 40 volts with an output voltage of 12 volts. If you look at the picture of the back of the converter you will see that the specifications are between 20 and 60 volts. My intended use was to convert 16 volts to 12 volts, but that didn't work due to the mismatch. Be aware of this before you buy.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • negative impression

Works well but questionable overcurrent protection

This worked great until the BMS on my e-bike failed and essentially shorted out the battery, completely draining the battery. Luckily everything else on the bike survived and is still working after I replaced the BMS, but this buck converter started hissing and smelling of ozone and is now dead. Here you have the advertised "4 Smart Protection", but it's hard to fault it. I ended up buying another one.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Perfect fit for my solar cab

My standalone cab is powered by a 24 volt battery solar power station. I like to use car chargers to keep my phones, tablets, mobile wifi and other devices charged and working. This is more efficient than operating everything via an inverter. I also have a 12VDC fridge. This Aweking Waterproof DC/DC 24V Step Down to 12V Step Down Converter provides enough and stable power for my 12V devices. I've been using it for a few months now and am very happy with the build quality and the sheer power it…

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
